New MIMIT notice for the revitalization of the Termini Imerese industrial area

With the directorial circular of 22 September 2025, no. 0002201 , the Ministry of Business and Made in Italy has published a new public notice for the selection of entrepreneurial initiatives in the complex industrial crisis area of Termini Imerese .

The measure, implemented under Law No. 181/1989, provides €15 million to support the revitalization of production and the redevelopment of the local industrial fabric, promoting the creation and development of new business projects.

New MIMIT Notice

Aims and objectives of the intervention

The initiative aims to strengthen the region's competitiveness by encouraging new entrepreneurial initiatives and expanding existing businesses. The goal is to attract investments that will have a positive impact on the local economy, supporting job growth and innovation in production processes.

The allocated resources are intended to finance investment programs aimed at improving industrial and environmental performance, with particular attention to projects focused on energy efficiency, digitalization, and sustainability.


Beneficiaries

The following can access the benefits:

  • joint-stock companies , already established and operational;

  • cooperative societies and consortium companies ;

  • business networks , made up of a minimum of three and a maximum of six entities.

For individual companies, the minimum eligible investment is €1 million . In the case of business networks, each participant must invest no less than €400,000 , in compliance with the overall requirements set out in the call for proposals.


Types of eligible projects

The following initiatives will be admitted to the New MIMIT notice:

  • the construction of new production plants or the expansion of existing ones;

  • process, product or organizational innovation interventions;

  • industrial research and development programs ;

  • training projects for staff qualification.

The incentives may be granted in the form of a contribution towards the cost of installations , a contribution towards expenditure and a subsidized loan , in compliance with the maximum intensities established by the legislation.


Methods and deadlines for submitting applications

Applications for access can be submitted to Invitalia starting from 12:00 on 30 October 2025 and by 12:00 on 15 January 2026 .

The procedure is a one-stop evaluation : applications will be examined in chronological order and admitted to the benefits until the available resources are exhausted.

The new call represents an important opportunity for existing businesses and new investors looking to contribute to the reindustrialization of Termini Imerese .
